Orphanage touched by love in Lubumbashi DRC

AE Admin | August 11th, 2018

AE is in the thick of mission season and we’ve now turned our attention to Democratic Republic of Congo where the Lubumbashi University Mission is currently taking place. Lubumbashi is the second largest city in the nation with a population of about 1.5 million. Our team is focusing on outreach in the universities this week and we are excited to watch all that God does in the hearts of these young people.

Every evangelistic mission in African Enterprise also prioritises the importance of blessing the community by meeting the needs of the people. Whether by cleaning the streets or building a house, it is a way of showing our compassion for people’s physical needs as well as their spiritual needs.

“It is a way of showing our compassion for people’s physical needs as well as their spiritual needs.”

The 147 occupants of the orphanage were overjoyed when they saw the toilets being connected and running water coming from the well for the first time. Tresor (one of the oldest at the orphanage) told us, “You have brought us life! Water is life and Jesus is life and we have been dead without these things for so long. Thank you! We have many more needs here. Please pray for us.” The mission team also provided the girls with female sanitation packs and discussed with them how to use them. The orphanage was greatly blessed by the gifts and the Gospel message that was brought and the team left encouraged that God had touched the hearts of the children there.

“You have brought us life! Water is life and Jesus is life and we have been dead without these things for so long. Thank you!”
